​BIRMINGHAM LASER SIMULATION COURSE

​The Birmingham Laser Simulation Course is held at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre (BMEC) Out Patients Department. The next Laser course will be held on the 11th of January 2025.

All stations will have hands-on training facility with the latest available simulation eyes.

There will be the following stations in the course:
YAG Laser Capsulotomy
YAG Laser Peripheral Iridotomy
Argon Laser (Standard)
Argon Laser (Pattern)
Argon Laser (Indirect)
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty
​Cryotherapy
Cyclodiode

Target Audience: Ophthalmology Trainees with no previous retinal or YAG laser experience
 
Theory: All trainees will be expected to complete the online training laser module ahead of the course (free registration):

09.00 - 09.30 - Registration and Introduction to Course
 
09.30 - 12.00 - Practical Station
 
12.00 - 12.30 -  Lunch
 
12.30 - 14.00 - Practical Station
 
14.00 - 14.30 - Feedback and Debrief
